Alcúdia offers two closely related but different holiday experiences: an attractive historic town and a port-and-beach area nearby. That distinction matters when choosing accommodation. You can build a stay around old streets and meals in town, or put the sandy coast at the centre of each day and visit the historic centre as a change of pace.
Alcúdia Old Town gives the area its historic character, with enclosing walls and streets suited to wandering without an elaborate route. Port d’Alcúdia shifts the setting towards boats, a waterfront and established holiday life.
Playa de Alcúdia brings the focus back to the bay’s beach landscape, where a relaxed day can easily replace a sightseeing plan. These are complementary experiences rather than identical names for the same place. Leave time to enjoy the transition between them, and check the journey before assuming everything is within a short walk.

Distinguish the old town from the port and beach areas when booking. Compare your likely daily route to the sand, restaurants and transport connections. A longer stay gives room for both a beach routine and outings elsewhere in Mallorca, but there is no need to travel every day. Keep some time free to return to your favourite local area.
