Cancún

Cancún combines a developed Caribbean resort setting with opportunities to explore beyond the hotel. Broad beach views, lagoon scenery and nearby island outings create different ways to spend a stay. Decide whether you want a mostly resort-based holiday or a more independent mix of beach days and excursions before choosing accommodation.

A closer look

Find your own rhythm in Cancún.

Playa Delfines gives the beach a prominent place on a first-visit shortlist. El Rey Archaeological Zone adds a historical stop within the Cancún area, offering a change from the seafront. Isla Mujeres is a separate island outing that needs its own transport plan. Treat that as a day with a different pace rather than squeezing it between other bookings.

How to enjoy your time here

Compare Hotel Zone locations carefully, including the journeys to the activities you want. Read what your room or package includes and check transfer arrangements. For boat trips, confirm the operator’s current conditions and departure point. Keep beach time flexible around local conditions rather than promising yourself a fixed activity every day.

START EXPLORING

Three places for your shortlist. Check current access, opening arrangements and suitability before making firm plans.

A sensible starting point

Make the trip work for you.

Choose your base

Compare a Hotel Zone base with the transport needed for the activities you want.

Build a manageable route

Use Playa Delfines as one anchor for your plans, then decide how El Rey Archaeological Zone and Isla Mujeres fit the time you have. Group nearby stops and leave room for meals and the journeys between them.

Compare the whole cost

Add accommodation, travel, local transport and your chosen activities before comparing options. Read the room details and cancellation terms, and check what any package includes.

Keep exploring

Make the plan fit your party

Solo travellers can start with one main activity and time to explore. Couples can keep a free evening in the plan. Families can build in shorter outings and breaks. Groups should agree a few shared priorities and check room and transport arrangements together.

Walking & access planning

We have not yet added a destination-specific official access resource to this guide. This does not mean the destination is unsuitable. Ask the accommodation, transport operator and each attraction about the exact access features you need.

A guide or accessible feature does not establish access for the whole trip. Confirm doorways, steps, gradients, walking distances, bathrooms, lifts, transfers and any assistance directly with the relevant provider.
