Lanzarote

Lanzarote has a strong visual identity: volcanic landscapes, pale buildings and creative spaces closely connected with the work of César Manrique. It is an island where a cultural outing and a landscape excursion often overlap, making it particularly rewarding to explore beyond the beach. Choose a resort or town for daily convenience, then group visits by their location.

A closer look

Find your own rhythm in Lanzarote.

Timanfaya National Park introduces the island’s dramatic volcanic terrain and is best approached through the official visiting arrangements. Jameos del Agua shows a different relationship between nature and design, using a volcanic setting as the basis for a remarkable cultural space.

The César Manrique Foundation adds context to the artist’s role in the island’s visual identity. These are individual visits with different access and booking details, so allow each a meaningful part of the day. Leave time between them to notice how the surrounding landscape changes.

How to enjoy your time here

Group the volcanic and cultural sites by location and check visit arrangements. Avoid assuming that every natural area can be explored independently; follow the rules for the specific site. A week gives room for a few dedicated outings and plenty of coastal time. Compare accommodation by your preferred evening atmosphere as well as its position on the island.

Walking & access planning

We have not yet added a destination-specific official access resource to this guide. This does not mean the destination is unsuitable. Ask the accommodation, transport operator and each attraction about the exact access features you need.

A guide or accessible feature does not establish access for the whole trip. Confirm doorways, steps, gradients, walking distances, bathrooms, lifts, transfers and any assistance directly with the relevant provider.
