Lindos

Lindos combines white village houses, a dramatic acropolis and curved bays on the east coast of Rhodes. Its compact appearance is part of its charm, but slopes and steps make your exact position important. It can work as an atmospheric base or a substantial excursion from elsewhere on the island. Either way, leave time for the village below the famous landmark, where a slower walk and a meal make the visit feel like more than a climb and a photograph.

A closer look

Find your own rhythm in Lindos.

Lindos Acropolis is the headline sight, with ancient remains in an elevated setting overlooking the coast. Check the approach and current visiting arrangements before planning the ascent.

St Paul's Bay gives you another view of the area's relationship with the sea and can be a separate coastal pause. Lindos Village itself deserves time among the lanes and white buildings, rather than being treated only as the route to the top. These three parts create a balanced visit, but take account of the walking between them and avoid cramming the whole day with additional distant stops.

How to enjoy your time here

Check the route from any accommodation to the village centre and your preferred beach, particularly if stairs or steep paths are a concern. For a day trip, allow time for arrival, parking or transfer arrangements as well as sightseeing. Keep the acropolis visit separate from the most restful part of the day. Read recent location comments when choosing between a central and quieter surrounding base.

Walking & access planning

We have not yet added a destination-specific official access resource to this guide. This does not mean the destination is unsuitable. Ask the accommodation, transport operator and each attraction about the exact access features you need.

A guide or accessible feature does not establish access for the whole trip. Confirm doorways, steps, gradients, walking distances, bathrooms, lifts, transfers and any assistance directly with the relevant provider.
