Prague

Prague brings together castle views, old streets and a river that gives the city room to breathe. Its architectural variety is a large part of the attraction, from grand squares to the smaller lanes on either side of the Vltava. It works well as a walking-focused short break, with time to stop and notice the details.

A closer look

Find your own rhythm in Prague.

Charles Bridge connects two of the best-known sightseeing areas and offers views along the river. Prague Castle is a wider complex rather than one quick indoor stop, so decide which parts you want to explore. Old Town Square introduces another side of the city through its buildings and public spaces. Take a few side streets between these landmarks to vary the pace.

How to enjoy your time here

Consider an early bridge walk, then save a substantial part of a day for the castle area. Hills, cobbles and steps can make the route more demanding than a map suggests. Stay near useful public transport if you prefer fewer long walks. Avoid packing timed visits too closely around cross-city journeys.

START EXPLORING

Three places for your shortlist. Check current access, opening arrangements and suitability before making firm plans.

A sensible starting point

Make the trip work for you.

Choose your base

Allow an early walk for the bridge before spending time in the old neighbourhoods.

Build a manageable route

Use Charles Bridge as one anchor for your plans, then decide how Prague Castle and Old Town Square fit the time you have. Group nearby stops and leave room for meals and the journeys between them.

Compare the whole cost

Add accommodation, travel, local transport and your chosen activities before comparing options. Read the room details and cancellation terms, and check what any package includes.

Make the plan fit your party

Solo travellers can start with one main activity and time to explore. Couples can keep a free evening in the plan. Families can build in shorter outings and breaks. Groups should agree a few shared priorities and check room and transport arrangements together.

Walking & access planning

We have not yet added a destination-specific official access resource to this guide. This does not mean the destination is unsuitable. Ask the accommodation, transport operator and each attraction about the exact access features you need.

A guide or accessible feature does not establish access for the whole trip. Confirm doorways, steps, gradients, walking distances, bathrooms, lifts, transfers and any assistance directly with the relevant provider.
