St Louis combines a dramatic riverside landmark with generous parkland and attractions that are more playful than a conventional museum list suggests. Its history as a gateway city provides a useful theme, but a visit also leaves room for art, open space and neighbourhood meals. The city rewards a plan that gives downtown and the wider park area their own time.
Gateway Arch is the obvious visual anchor, with the surrounding riverfront adding context to the landmark itself. Check the different visit options before deciding what to book. Forest Park offers a much larger landscape of green space and cultural attractions, so choose the part that fits your interests rather than expecting to see it all in a short walk.
City Museum supplies an unusual, highly interactive experience built around imaginative structures and spaces. Check its physical demands and suitability for your group. These three ideas balance civic scale, outdoor time and something distinctly playful.
How to enjoy your time here
Keep downtown and Forest Park on separate sections of your itinerary to avoid spending the day in repeated transfers. Check access arrangements and ticket details for the Arch and City Museum in advance. Compare accommodation with both transport and your preferred evening area. Give the park time to feel like a break, with space for a meal or an unplanned stop.

Walking & access planning
We have not yet added a destination-specific official access resource to this guide. This does not mean the destination is unsuitable. Ask the accommodation, transport operator and each attraction about the exact access features you need.
A guide or accessible feature does not establish access for the whole trip. Confirm doorways, steps, gradients, walking distances, bathrooms, lifts, transfers and any assistance directly with the relevant provider.
